RCSB Meeting -- Mayor Randy Rowse

Randy was elected as the 51st Mayor of Santa Barbara in 2021 to a five year term.  He previously served on the City Council from 2010 to 2019.

Randy arrived in Santa Barbara in 1972 to attend UCSB as an Environmental Studies major, and never left. He and with his wife Janet have lived in the same house on the Mesa for 36 years and raised two children there. 

You may also recognize Randy for his 37 years as owner and operator of the Paradise Cafe.

Prior to his City Council tenure, Randy was active in community organizations such as the Downtown Parking Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, The Downtown Organization, Hospitality Santa Barbara and the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. 

He was named Volunteer of the Year from the Downtown Organization in 2010 and Business Person of the Year from the Chamber of Commerce in 2019.
