My year as President is already a ΒΌ over.  We continue to see steady growth in our average club meeting attendance.  We brought on 2 new members and are inching ever closer to crossing the 60 member mark again for the first time in a few years.  We are also seeing some of our members that we have not seen for a while.  I told you all at the Step Down Dinner for Matt Nehmer that my only goal this year was member engagement.  Thanks to the efforts of many of you we are making good progress in this area.  However, there are several members that still have not attended a meeting in-person or even via zoom for quite some time.  This Friday is a great meeting to break that streak.  Our very own Margo Byrne, CEO for the Channel Islands YMCA, has put together a program on Youth and Family Services.  If there is one thing we can all agree on it is that these past two plus years COVID 19 has impacted all our lives in one way or another.  As someone that works with children I can say with 100% confidence that it impacted our youth tremendously.  I can also say that Margo and her team did an EXCELLENT job of rising to meet those challenges.   For those of you that have not been back to a meeting in-person yet or attended via zoom please make every effort to attend this meeting.  I am very confident that you will walk away inspired by the work being done by the Channel Islands YMCA to help our local youth and families.

Here is to seeing you Friday.

All my best,

Michael Baker
