Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Greetings from Chicago! I'm grateful to be on my first trip outside of California in over a year and a half. As someone who used to travel frequently for work and for fun, the extended period at home in beautiful Santa Barbara has been a big change for me. While I'm grateful for the extra time at home with my daughter, I am now thrilled to be back in a big city, enjoying new sights. And one of the best sights so far was finding this plaque marking the location of the first Rotary Club meeting in 1905. I am proud to be part of an institution that has stood for service to others for over a century.

I'm looking forward to seeing you on Zoom this Friday, May 21. We will have a full meeting with our final presentation of our Teacher Appreciation Award. We will also welcome Linda Cole from African Women Rising. She will talk about the impact of war on women in Africa. African Women Rising works in Uganda to empower women after conflict by providing technical skills and support for success via education, agriculture, and microfinance training. I'm sure it will be an interesting and enlightening presentation.

Yours in Rotary Service,
Stacey Pres
