Fellow Rotarians,
Sharing a letter from one of the students that our club sponsored to attend RYLA this spring.
It’s a reminder of the difference Rotary programming makes in our community and the impact of our club. Special thanks to Margo Byrne and Stacey Lydon for facilitating our involvement with the RYLA conference this past April.
And thanks to President-Elect Michael Baker for filling in for me on May 20 while I was away in Chicago. We learned about TEDx talks with guest speaker Mark Sylvester and inducted a new member, Dave Shea.
As we cross into June, only two meetings remain for the 2021 –2022 Rotary year. Up next, we hit the road for a site visit to the Santa Barbara Zoo with a personally curated tour led by their CEO, Rich Block. Click here to register.
And then we return to First Pres for our last regular meeting on June 17 where we will welcome recipients of our Foundation grants for the year. Hope you can make it.
Lastly, if you haven’t signed up for a coffee with Prez-Elect Baker, please do so. I attended my appointment last week and it was time well spent. It’s a great way to share feedback and how you want to make a difference next year and beyond.
Until next time, see you at Rotary.
In service,
Matthew Nehmer
President (2021-2022), Rotary Club of Santa Barbara
