Good afternoon my fellow Rotarians. Hope you were able to enjoy the gray and drizzly weekend. I was able to fly to Santa Paula on Friday while the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a flight. Hopefully, the weather will improve as we move into Spring this week.
I am happy to report that Jim Carberry is on the mend. He was at the weekly happy hour last Friday night, and able to consume at least one beer as well as crack a few jokes. Hopefully, he’ll make it to our meeting this Friday.
As I mentioned last week, we will be having a great presentation this week by Bill MacFadyen, the founder and publisher of Noozhawk. Bill filled in a major news vacuum after the demise of the New Press in the mid 2000s, and has done a wonderful job of bringing local news to the Santa Barbara over the internet for close to twenty years. He’s going to be talking about the local news environment, and the many challenges of trying to make money in this difficult media market. It should be a great program and a good one to bring a guest or potential member to attend.
Enjoy your week and I’ll see you on Friday.
