Hello fellow Rotarians!
Thanks to everyone who attended our meeting last Friday. Our speaker, Julie DeAngelis is a local speech therapist who has travelled throughout the world with Operation Smile, an organization that provides surgery for children and adults with cleft palates. Julie works to help these patients improve their speech patterns after the surgery both through direct therapy, and by working with parents and instructors. Julie was introduced by former member Lindsey Leonard, who suggested her as a speaker to the program committee several months ago.
Our next regular meeting will be on Friday, October 4. Our speaker will be well known local journalist Jerry Roberts. Jerry has had a distinguished career as a journalist, editor, author and political commentator in both the San Francisco area and in Santa Barbara. He has spoken to our club several times in the past and always provides valuable insight into all things political. He will be focusing on State and local issues that will be on the ballot in November. This is a good chance to get the scoop on these issues right before mail in ballots arrive.
This Thursday, we will be celebrating the upcoming birth of Matt and Stacey’s new child with a shower at Jim Stretchberry’s home. If you are planning on coming, please RSVP as soon as possible, so we can get a good count for the “taco man.”
Enjoy your week.
