Good morning from rainy Santa Barbara.  After seven months with no rain, it is nice to receive some precipitation and hopefully bring an end to fire season for another few months.  And for the skiers, it’s nice to finally see some snow falling at California ski resorts!

We do not have a meeting this week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Our next meeting will be on Friday, December 6 when we will have the pleasure of hosting our District Governor, Sherry Sim for her official visit to our club.

For new members, the visit of the District Governor every year is an important event for our club.  Sherry will be meeting with the Board of Directors of the Club prior to the meeting and discussing our challenges and opportunities for the future. She will also be making a presentation to the full club to talk about her Rotary experiences, and providing insight into where Rotary International is going as an worldwide organization. I hope you will really try to attend this very important meeting of our club.

Also, a brief reminder to please sign up for our holiday party, scheduled for Thursday, December 19 at Timbers in Goleta.  Marlee King, the Club Service Chair, has done a great time preparing for this event and you will not want to miss it.

Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for all you do in service to Rotary and our community.
