We had a great meeting last Friday, hearing from 11 past Presidents of our club about their years of service. Going back nearly 30 years, it was a great way to learn more about the great history of our club, and the many contributions we have made to the community. And to learn about some of the hijinks our past presidents have been involved in as well. Thanks so much to Michael Baker for again emceeing this annual event.
We do not have a meeting this week. And next week, in lieu of our normal Friday lunch meeting, we will be having our annual Step Down Party at the University Club from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. This is a great social event to include spouses, partners and friends, and is the time in which the club gets to finally send me on my way, and welcome our new President Jennifer LeMert. Club Service Director Marlee King is taking the lead on planning this event, and is asking for RSVPs as soon as possible, so we can give the University Club a good count. Hope you can make it. It should be fun.
As I have mentioned at recent meetings, our schedule in July will be changed due to the 4th of July Holiday and to avoid the parking crunch caused by the Junior Life Guard competition at East Beach. We will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Fridays (July 11 and July 25). And when in doubt, you can always check on ClubRunner.
