The company was founded in 2011 and is a leading firm doing solar work in the Santa Barbara area. Marshall has been involved in the solar power industry for over 20 years and brings a wealth of knowlege to this area. He will be speaking on Unraveling the Options for Electric Power in California. |

The Santa Barbara Rotary Club is pleased to have Chuck Flacks speak to the club about one of the most difficult issues facing our community and nation. Chuck has a long career working with the homeless both in Los Angeles and in Santa Barbara County. He recently was appointed as the Goleta Homeless Services Coordinator. He is a graduate of San Diego State University and has a Masters Degree from the Harvard Kennedy School in Public Policy.

The Santa Barbara Rotary Club is pleased to welcome Steven Zipperstein to speak to our club about the Middle East conflict from an historical and legal perspective. Mr. Zipperstein is a practicing attorney as well as a lecturer at both UCSB and UCLA on the Middle East. He is a graduate of UCLA and has a degree from UC Davis. He also served as a prosecutor in the United States Attorney's office in Los Angeles, and then Chief Legal Officer for Verizon Wireless from 2003 to 2011, and subsequently Chief Legal Officer for Blackberry Ltd.

Let's all welcome Santa Barbara native District Governor Scott Phillips to the Santa Barbara Club. Scott grew up and lives in Santa Barbara and is a member of the Goleta Club. Here is his biography: Scott joined the Rotary Club of Goleta Noontime in 2013 and served as President in 2016-17. During his year as club President, the club was #1 in the District for per capita giving to The Rotary Foundation annual fund. Scott has served Rotary District 5240 as Communications Director in 2015-16, Assistant Governor in 2017-18, Chief Operating Officer in 2018-19, District Administrator in 2019-20, President of the Rotary District 5240 Charitable Foundation and PRLS Director in 2019-21, and is serving as Rotary District 5240 Governor in 2022-23. He is the District's youngest governor. In addition, Scott has served as an Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 26 in 2019-21.
Scott is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Paul Harris Society Member, Major Donor, member of the Bequest Society, PolioPlus Society and a District 5240 Triple Crown Donor Charter member. In addition, Scott is a PRLS and Master PRLS Graduate.
Scott is the CEO of Synergy Computing, Inc., an IT Managed Service Provider in Santa Barbara, CA and is the author of the book “Hassle-Free Computer Support: A Small Business Owner’s Guide For Finding a Competent, Honest, Considerate, On-Time, Fairly Priced and Dependable Computer Consultant”. Scott is a Certified HIPAA Security Professional and member of FBI InfraGard.
