Rotarian on the Road – Pikes Peak

Fellow Rotarians,

Last week I attended the Rotary Club of Fort Collins Breakfast meeting. I traveled to Fort Collins to hang out with my friend and fellow Rotarian Mike Labate, who owns Rocky Mountain Westy, a vintage Volkswagen shop. After attending his Club’s meeting I took my van to have his expert mechanics give it a good checkup. The Fort Collins Breakfast group was a rowdy 80+ member group who all seemed to be overly excited to be awake at 6:45 in the morning, it was a blast!

This week I drove to Colorado Springs and yesterday I woke up early to hike to the top of Pikes Peak. The trail was 26 miles round trip, and climbed 7,500 feet to the top. I had perfect weather and made it up and back in 6 hours and 40 minutes. I’m a little sore today but glad I tested myself on “America’s Mountain.”

Have a fantastic week!
