Rotarian on the Road – Bike Tour 2017

Fellow Rotarians,
Last week my friend Ryan and I wrapped up our 2017 South American bicycle tour. We flew from the End Of The World to Buenos Aires, Argentina and took a boat to Uruguay and spent a few days riding back to Buenos Aires. Uruguay really is one of the most beautiful, inviting, and pleasant countries I’ve visited and I hope to return soon! We arrived in downtown Buenos Aires in pouring rain with multiple parts of our gear and bicycles broken or on the verge of destruction, it seemed that everything was pointing us toward ending out trip and we were happy to reach the center of town and park the bikes for the last time.
South American Bike Tour 2017
2,045 Kilometers
1,270 Miles
43 Days
32 Campsites
3 Countries
5 Buses
6 Boat Ferries
1 Airplane
Countless boxes of wine and liters of beer
Too many laughs to count
Zero plans
One heck of a great adventure!
As you read this I’m flying back to the United States, first to DC, then to Arizona, and on to Northern California and finally back to Santa Barbara. I’m looking forward to seeing you all later in May!
