Gala Event

What an amazing event this past Saturday night!  The 100-year Gala Party was a phenomenal success!  In attendance were many members, former members and guests along with a few dignitaries. The evening began with friendly conversation and cocktails on the patio.  With perfect weather and nice company this was a great start to the evening.  A delicious three-course meal and program followed the cocktails.  Bob Fatch and Gretchen Falvo did a splendid job with the Flag Salute and Invocation.  Wade Nomura and Sandi Schwarz shared some appreciative words from Rotary International and District 5240.  Robert Dibley provided an eloquent toast that we enjoyed with a glass of champagne provided by the Hotel.  After singing Happy Birthday to our club, we danced the night away with the help of the Replicas.  I cannot say enough good things about the band as they showed tremendous variety playing Jazz in the beginning, followed by top dance songs and finishing with “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns and Roses.  To help us all remember the evening the 100-year Gala booklet was a fantastic keepsake to take home.  If you were unable to attend make sure and ask for the booklet as you will truly enjoy reading it.  All in all this was a fantastic evening that was truly a celebration of Rotary!

This event could not have happened without the effort and generosity of the vast majority of our members.  That being said Pamela Galvin, Matt Nehmer and Robert Dibley deserve our heartfelt appreciation for the extra effort they put into making sure this Gala was a success and George Goodall deserves a Pulitzer for his work on the booklet.  Congratulate them for making sure the evening was memorable when you get a chance.
