President’s Letter – November 12, 2019

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

About half of the members of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara participated in the member survey in October. As surveys go, that is a very high response rate. I’m going to go out on a limb and conclude that the reason so many people responded is because we love our club and want to make it the best Rotary club it can be. When we looked at the results of the survey together at our annual meeting last week, something that stood out was how many of us want the club to be a place of fellowship and fun. I am excited to see what the newly formed “Fun Committee” comes up with. Mike Bieza is leading the charge, and I know that the volunteers on the committee are going to come up with great ideas.

And if fellowship is what you want, I hope to see you at the Holiday Happy Hour/Club Meeting at Uncorked on Friday evening. This is instead of our lunch meeting at Mulligan’s. You received a registration email so please RSVP as usual so we will know how many people to plan for.

And speaking of the annual meeting, CONGRATULATIONS to Matt Nehmer on his election to the office of the 2021-2022 presidency! And CONGRATULATIONS to Paul Musgrove on his election to the board of directors starting in July 2020. The club is fortunate to have their service.
Remember that the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara will not meet on Friday December 27 and Friday January 3.

I look forward to seeing you Friday at Uncorcked!
Warmest regards,

Dean
