Announcements:
1. Kathleen announced the Group 8 Event at the Polo Grounds Sunday September 13. 12:00 PM.  The Rotaract Event at the Courthouse needs sponsorships from each Group 8 Club. Thank you for all who contributed.  We raised the $125 to sponsor part of a Miniature Golf Hole for the Rotaract Fundraiser for the SB Courthouse and $55 for Polio Plus.
2. Jenna Driscoll our Rotaract Rep. announced the upcoming Heart Walk. 3. Picnic is coming up soon.  Make plans to attend on September 18 and bring your family and friends for a nominal fee of $10 for those over 12.  Club members no extra fee, just regular lunch cost.
4. District 5240 Conference in Bakersfield.  I have signed up.  Have you?  Y’all come!
5. Social Hour will be at Charlie Mitchell’s Gallery.  Be sure to invite your friends who like art.

Other:
1. Justin Fareed had two box seat tickets to the Saturday UCLA Football game to auction with funds to go to the Foster Youth Fund.   One ticket was bought for $100 by Todd McGinley.  The auction then continued with four members pledging $100 each to the Foster Youth Fund.
2. Steve Brooks and wife Susan were invited to come to the podium.    President Kathleen had the honor to present an initial Paul Harris to Steve Brooks.

FINES:
1. Laurie Small have added to her community recognition by being in the Police Departments new recruiting video.
2. Jo Ann Mermis was fined for her participation on Michael Self’s radio show that will be aired 10 AM Sunday on AM 1290
3. David Starr just returned from Switzerland and a big family reunion at the wedding of a family member.
4. Dave Williams returned from a photographic expedition this time to the Arctic.  Can’t wait for the pictures.
5. Dick Meyers and Dick Salogga were fined for wearing shorts to a club meeting!!!

REMINDER:  Social Hour tonight is at Mitchell Gallery.  Thank you to our fellow Rotarians from other clubs and guests for spending time with us here at the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara.  We hope you return again.
