3. Kathleen and Kirk Greene’s sister Joni with one of the crab pots in Lake Washington. I know I won’t be fined, but, shared my adventure anyway.  I found out we had to throw all the female crabs back and therefore we only got to keep 4 crabs out of about 40 we caught in the crap pots.

RCSB_-_Paul_Harris_Awards_August_2015

Paul Harris Awards, a short explanation:  Paul Harris Awards are made to members of Rotary who donate a total of $1000 to The RI Foundation for either Polio Plus or The Paul Harris funds.  Polio Plus designated funds go to the effort to eradicate Polio in the world.  The RI Foundation Funds fund many of the RI Projects around the world, such as, Students Abroad, for 1 example.  RI sends our Club the Paul Harris Pin to be given to the donor of the $1000.  On you quarterly billing you will see $25 contribution that you make toward a Paul Harris.  You can wait till the 10 years pass to make $1000 or you can give more at any time.  Many members of our club are Paul Harris Fellows.  Look in your new Roster to see them identified. LeRoy Hunt our current Paul Harris fund tracker, a committee of one, who has done a marvelous job over many years has some special pins to award today.
– LeRoy Hunt distributed, a fourth PH Pin to Robert Dibley, and a special diamond PH pin for donations totaling $10,000.  Congratulations to Robert and Connie Green!
– Jim and Sue Carberry were asked to the Podium as Jim was fined a whole card to recognize 50 years of marriage.  Jim then surprised Sue with a present of a Paul Harris Fellow Award in honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary that is on this very date.

REMINDER:  Special Carberry Anniversary at La Arcata Bistro Social Hour tonight, see you there!  Thank you to our John for informing us about UCSB Athletics and again thank you to our guests for spending time with us here at the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara.  We hope you return again.
